KUALA LUMPUR, May 19, 2025 — The Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC), through the National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN), hosted the National-Level Kem Generasi Budaya at the Institut Kenegaraan Perdana, Jalan Bellamy, Kuala Lumpur.

The program served as a platform for knowledge-sharing and expertise in arts, culture, and heritage, targeting cultural practitioners. It aimed to equip participants with insights into industry trends and management strategies to adapt to modern changes while promoting Malaysia’s unique arts, culture, and heritage. Activities included talks on funding, sponsorship, and marketing, as well as workshops on proposal writing, group discussions, pitching sessions, and practical production exercises.

Ninety participants from across Malaysia, selected as the best from six zonal-level programs held last year (involving 465 participants), attended the event. Notable speakers included Dr. Norzizi Zulkifli (UiTM lecturer), Shamsul Bahrin Zainuzzaman (LOCCO Malaysia), Low Ngai Yuen (Kaki Seni), and Rosnan Nordin (Performance Director).

Dato’ Mohd Yusri bin Mohd Yusoff, Deputy Secretary-General (Culture) of MOTAC, officiated the event alongside Mohd Amran bin Mohd Haris, JKKN Director-General.

“Kem Generasi Budaya inspires young generations to establish new associations or companies rooted in arts and culture. These NGOs and companies play a vital role in supporting the government’s efforts to strengthen the cultural sector,” said Dato’ Mohd Yusri.
