The accusations, reportedly spread via a Telegram channel and amplified across various social media platforms, directly targeted Nanta in his capacity as Malaysia’s Works Minister.

In a statement, Nanta condemned the defamatory allegations, stating they not only tarnish his personal reputation but also undermine the integrity of the Works Ministry and the Malaysian government.

“As a politician and member of the government, I uphold trust and am committed to serving the people and nation. These false claims are an attack on our collective credibility,” he said.

Expressing concern over the widespread dissemination of the message, which has fueled negative public perceptions, Nanta confirmed that a police report was lodged yesterday at the Tun H.S. Lee Police Station through his senior private secretary. He urged authorities to swiftly investigate the matter and vowed full cooperation to ensure justice is served.

Nanta emphasized that defamation must not be weaponized for political or personal agendas, calling for accountability for those responsible for spreading the falsehoods. The matter has been handed over to the authorities for further action.
