TVET Paving the Future: Outstanding students shine at the 3rd annual awards ceremony hosted by JPPKK and KKKL

KUALA LANGAT , May 7, 2025 – The Department of Polytechnic and Community College Education (JPPKK), in collaboration with Kuala Langat Community College (KKKL), hosted the 2024 Polytechnic and Community College Student Excellence Awards Ceremony at KSL Esplanade Hotel, Klang, Selangor. The event was officiated by Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Ts. Mustapha Sakmud.






Themed ‘TVET: Pioneering the Future’, the third edition of this annual ceremony celebrated outstanding students from polytechnics and community colleges across Malaysia. Recognized for their achievements in academics, leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, volunteerism, sports, and culture, the award recipients reflect JPPKK’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and producing well-rounded graduates who meet industry and national needs.


The ceremony aligns with the Ministry of Higher Education’s (KPT) goal of nurturing high-quality, competitive, and skilled graduates, as outlined in the Malaysia Education Blueprint (Higher Education) 2015-2025. The awards also encourage students to excel in leadership, entrepreneurship, and academic performance.


Among the awards presented were:

  • Student Representative Committee Excellence Award (Polytechnic and Community College)

  • Culture, Arts, and Heritage Excellence Award (Polytechnic)

  • Orator Excellence Award (Polytechnic)

  • Volunteerism Excellence Award (Polytechnic)

  • Entrepreneurship Excellence Award (Polytechnic and Community College)

  • Sports Excellence Award (Polytechnic and Community College)

  • Skills Excellence Award (Polytechnic and Community College)

  • Innovation Excellence Award (Polytechnic and Community College)

  • Director-General’s Special Excellence Award

  • Minister of Higher Education’s Premier Excellence Award


In addition, the Parents’ Association of Polytechnics and Community Colleges Headquarters provided aid to five students affected by the gas pipe explosion tragedy at Putra Heights on April 1.


The event underscores Malaysia’s dedication to advancing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a cornerstone of national development.
