PUTRAJAYA, 15 April 2025 – The Malaysian Government has announced that a State Funeral Ceremony will be held to honor the late Tun Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi, former Prime Minister of Malaysia.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Department, the body will be brought to the National Mosque, Kuala Lumpur, at 8:00 AM for funeral arrangements. The final tribute ceremony will take place at the Main Prayer Hall of the National Mosque from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
After the Zohor prayers, the funeral prayers will be performed at the National Mosque, followed by the burial at the Heroes’ Mausoleum, National Mosque.
Attendees are requested to adhere to the specified dress code. Muslim men are required to wear a black Baju Kebangsaan with a plain black sampin and black songkok, while non-Muslim men are advised to wear a dark Lounge Suit. Muslim women should wear a dark-colored baju kurung or kebaya labuh with a white headscarf or shawl, while non-Muslim women may wear dark formal attire with a white shawl. Other appropriate attire is also permitted.
As a mark of respect, all buildings within a 2-kilometer radius of the National Mosque are required to fly the Jalur Gemilang at half-mast until the ceremony concludes.
