Cancellation of Ministry of Digital’s 2025 Aidilfitri Celebration

PUTRAJAYA 15 April 2025 - In light of the nation’s mourning following the passing of Malaysia’s fifth former Prime Minister, Tun Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi, the Ministry of Digital respectfully announces the cancellation of its 2025 Aidilfitri Celebration, originally scheduled for April 15, 2025 (Tuesday).

The ministry expresses gratitude for the support and understanding of all parties regarding this cancellation.

“Our prayers accompany the soul of the late Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. May his soul be blessed with mercy and placed among the righteous,” the ministry stated.

Heartfelt condolences were also extended to the family of the late former Prime Minister.

Yesterday, the nation was shocked by news of the former Prime Minister’s passing.

The late Tun Abdullah’s remains will be brought to the National Mosque this morning

The public will have the opportunity to pay their final respects at the Main Prayer Hall of the National Mosque from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The remains will then be laid to rest at the Heroes’ Mausoleum, National Mosque, after the Zohor prayers.

Non-Muslim visitors are advised to wear modest and appropriate attire as a sign of respect.
